Substitutions
What are Subs?
Subs are a way to keep tournaments fair while still letting you trade during live matches.
If you trade too aggressively after your players are on the pitch, you’ll trigger substitutions, which can reduce your Tournament Points (TP) for that tournament.
They do not affect squad selection, they only impact your rewards, nothing else.
When do Subs trigger?
A sub triggers when you sell more than 10% of a player, that has already entered the pitch in real life.
The system tracks how much of that player you’ve sold during/after the match. Once you cross the 10 percent mark, that player causes one sub for that tournament.
A player can only cause one sub per tournament, no matter how much more you sell after that.
Example
You have 1,000 shares of Haaland
Sell 50 → fine
Sell another 60 → you pass 10%, so 1 sub is triggered
Sell more → no extra subs from this player
Your free allowance
Every tournament gives you 5 free subs. Using up to 5 subs has zero penalty.
This makes it easy to:
Fix mistakes
React to line-ups
Adjust your positions a bit during the match
No punishment unless you go beyond five.
What happens if you go over 5 subs?
Once you pass 5 subs, your tournament reward starts to get reduced. The more subs you use, the higher the penalty.
0 - 5
No Penalty
6 - 7
50% Penalty
8 - 9
75% Penalty
10+
90% Penalty

Where can you see your Subs?
The Subs icon is clickable and opens a window where you can see the subs you've used.
Live matches will update your expected winnings if a sub triggers & will also adjust if penalties are in place.
