# Contracts Contracts determine whether your shares are **eligible** for tournament rewards. * Shares start with **4 contracts** by default. * If a player hits **0 contracts**, they won’t be entered for you in upcoming tournaments until you extend them. * Contracts are only used when the player **enters the pitch** in real life.
