Trading: Football

Signing and releasing shares is how you build and adjust your squad. Sign shares to back players you think will perform. Release shares to free up Gold and rebalance.

In the app

Navigation guide coming soon. This section will show you exactly where to find this in the app.

TL;DR

  • Fees are lower during a transfer window, so it is the cheaper time to move.
  • Signing costs the same either way (3%). The savings are on releasing and swapping.
  • Transfer windows run on set days each week, with a countdown to the next one shown in the app.
  • A player locks up 60 minutes before their fixture: you cannot release or swap them out until the fixture ends, but you can still sign more.
  • Timing matters. Signing after a player's lock-in does not count for that tournament.

Where to trade

Transfers page. Browse the full player market. Shows trending players and top movers, plus the current transfer window and the fees that apply right now.

Player page. Sign, release, or swap shares for a specific player. Shows price, upcoming fixtures, and recent performance.

Fees

Trading fees depend on whether a transfer window is live. Fees are lower inside a window, so it is the cheaper time to make moves.

Transfer window fees (lower):

ActionFee
Sign3%
Release3%
Swap (sell side)3%
Swap (buy side)2%

Standard fees (outside a window):

ActionFee
Sign3%
Release5%
Swap (sell side)5%
Swap (buy side)2%

Signing costs the same whether or not a window is live. Releasing and swapping out cost more outside a window, so it pays to plan those moves around the window.

Transfer windows

A transfer window is a set period each week when fees drop. When a window is not live, the Transfers page shows a countdown to the next one and the fees that currently apply.

Football transfer windows (all times UTC):

  • Tuesday 3pm to Wednesday 3pm
  • Friday 3pm to Saturday 3pm
  • Sunday 6am to 12pm

Player lock-ups

A player locks up 60 minutes before their fixture begins. While they are locked up:

  • You cannot release or swap that player out.
  • You can still sign more shares, or swap one in.

The lock-up ends when the fixture ends.

Slippage

Slippage happens when the price moves between when you start a trade and when it confirms, due to other trades happening at the same time.

The default slippage tolerance is 5%. You can adjust this before confirming. If the price moves beyond your tolerance before the trade goes through, the trade is cancelled and your Gold is returned.

Example: You set 10% slippage and start a Sign trade at 100 Gold. If the price rises to 110 Gold before confirmation, the trade still goes through. If it rises to 111 Gold, the trade is cancelled.

How to sign shares

  1. Go to the Transfers page and find the player you want
  2. Open their player page
  3. Tap Sign
  4. Choose how much Gold to spend, or how many shares to sign
  5. Review the fee and slippage settings
  6. Tap Confirm and wait for it to go through

Common mistakes

  • Releasing or swapping out outside a transfer window, when waiting for the window would be cheaper
  • Leaving a sell too late and finding the player locked up 60 minutes before their fixture
  • Signing after a lock-in and expecting the shares to count
