Getting Started: Football
Free to Play is the global version of Football, and it is exactly that: free. No pay-to-win, no buy-in. You start with a Gold grant, earn more from tournament rewards and objectives, and use it to build and grow your squad. Gold is the only currency.

Onboarding
When you first open the app you are taken through a short onboarding flow:
- Install prompt. The first screen offers to install the app to your phone (see Mobile app below). This screen shows on both Free to Play and Pro.
- Tutorial. Scroll through a few screens that introduce the game.
- Choose how to build your squad. You get two options:
- Starter Squad (recommended). You are given 8 players, 2 in each position, with a mix of stars and value picks so you can start playing immediately. Each player carries its own ownership label and price, and a Gold reserve figure shows how much Gold you will have left after accepting the squad. Not happy with the players? Re-roll up to 3 times. If you still want full control after the third re-roll, switch to Build Own Squad.
- Build Own Squad. Use your full Gold balance to pick your own players from scratch. Prices are shown as the Gold cost for 100 shares, and you sign in 100-share units at this stage. You must select 2 players in each position.
- Share your squad (optional). Once your squad is locked, you can share it.
- Enable notifications. Turn on push notifications to earn a Gold boost and keep squad, player, and market alerts close.
- You're in. You land on your squad to review your players.
WC 26: player prices are fixed for the first week. Trading does not move prices during that window, so there is no first-mover advantage on day one.
Signing up
If confirmation emails do not arrive, check your spam folder.
If that does not work, add [email protected] to your contacts and try again.
Mobile app (PWA)
Our game runs on desktop and mobile. On mobile, you can install the Progressive Web App (PWA) so it works like a native app:
- Open https://app.sport.fun/ in your mobile browser
- Tap the browser menu (three dots or share icon depending on your browser)
- Tap Install, Install App, or Add to Home Screen
- The app now appears on your home screen
A native app for the App Store and Google Play is on the roadmap.
Invite codes
You're assigned an invite code on signup. Share it to earn a share of your friends' fees in Gold.
